Friends of Ivanhoe

Friends of Ivanhoe is YOU!

Founded by parents in 1994, the purpose of Friends of Ivanhoe is to fundraise to support critical staff and programming at our school. Funds we raise pay for specialized academic intervention, teacher assistants, technology, art, music, and professional development, among other things. The School Site Council allocates the funds that Friends of Ivanhoe raises.

But FOI is also so much more! We host community building and enrichment events such as Walk-to-School Day and the Ivanhoe Talent Show. Some events raise funds while bringing our families and kids together like the legendary Ivanhoedown and the Ivanhoe Social. We also work closely with the school principal to manage communication tools such as the weekly Dragon News and the website.

The members of FOI consist of the parents and caregivers of students currently enrolled at Ivanhoe Elementary School: That’s you! And we can’t wait to meet you!

Friends of Ivanhoe hosts general meetings each month during the school year to share information about fundraising progress, upcoming events, volunteering, and news from the community. Please join us! Meetings are generally held on the 3rd Friday of the month. Watch Dragon News and check the calendar for details. MEETING CALENDAR

Friends of Ivanhoe is governed by a Board made up of officers elected from the Ivanhoe community who serve for two-year terms.

We hope you’ll consider joining the board. Elections are held at a special FOI meeting in May of every year.
